Enroll Early to Access Readiness Programs & Events
Starting school is an exciting milestone for children and families. Enrolling early allows schools to connect with families sooner, ensuring students have access to free kindergarten welcome events and readiness programs that help them start strong.

We offer Jump Start, a free, three-day program in August for children entering kindergarten in September. Jump Start gives children a gentle, engaging introduction to school routines and learning—helping ease first-day nerves for both children and families.
For the 2026-27 school year, Jump Start is Wednesday, Aug. 19 through Friday, Aug. 21, 2026. Please note: These dates are projected until the school calendar is approved this summer.
Dual Language
At Highline, we also offer the opportunity for students to become bilingual and biliterate. Spanish and Vietnamese dual language programs begin in kindergarten, giving students a head start in learning a second language.
