Plans for 2017-18

  • Raisbeck Aviation will align our “Aviation is Everywhere” theme with our three-year School Improvement Plan and one-year Annual Action Plan along with the Highline District Strategic Plan as we prepare all students to graduate high school and go on to college and careers in the aviation industry
  • All students will have the opportunity for rigorous, engaging, hands on activities through Project Based Learning in both core classes as well as electives. Project Based activities allow students to apply valuable cross-curricular concepts to extensive, real-world projects.
  • RAHS teachers will have the opportunity to attend professional development classes, seminars or conferences in areas of their choice, that will help strengthen instructional practices, especially in the context of Aviation and Aerospace. Opportunities will be in such areas as Personalized Learning for students, Engagement Strategies in the classroom, and Civic Engagement projects for students.
  • A Shared Leadership Team will further develop the School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plan goals to continue to foster a positive culture and climate while advising the best use of school resources, Professional Collaboration time, and Professional Development
  • Raisbeck Aviation will utilize a strong College and Career Center to provide every student with mentorship, internship, job shadow and field trip opportunities
  • Teachers will work in collaborative teams to establish learning targets that prepare students not only to master all Common Core State Standards but to prepare for rigorous AP, SAT, ACT and other college entrance exams
  • Raisbeck Aviation will continue to grow strong industry partnerships that support scholarships, grants, mentors and other opportunities to realize our school mission and vision.
