Students - Are you working?  Your job may qualify for Worksite Learning - Cooperative (WSL).Get school credit for working!  WSL – Worksite Learning. Earn .50 elective credit for every 180 hours worked.  Apply on-line at: www.highlineschools.org/wsl.

Students - The Port of Seattle High School Internship applications open on November 13! You must be 16 years old to apply. This is a 12 week paid internship program to explore careers at the Port of Seattle. The internship runs from January to March on Thursdays and Fridays from 2:00 – 5:00 -pm. Students!   Applications are now open for the 2024 Summer Internship opportunity with Teens in Public Service (TIPS), where high schoolers passionate about community service and social issues get placed at nonprofit organizations in our community. students develop job readiness skills in the context of the nonprofit sector, which can look like anything from managing food bank donations, supporting teaching artists, developing marketing campaigns, working at a care facility, and much more! Furthermore, TIPS is intentional about providing students with a paycheck for their commitment and investment in their work - the anticipated minimum wage in 2024 will be 19.97/hour.  The TIPS 2024 Intern Application deadline is March 4, 2024. Students – Are you interested in the medical field? Virgina Mason Franciscan Health is looking for high school student to job shadowing in multiple fields. This is an opportunity for students to gain exposure to the healthcare field through various professions that contribute to patient care. To assist students in future healthcare career decisions, you will have the opportunity to shadow up to 8 hours and/or participate in an extended cohort field experience. Students must be 16-18 years of age and adhere to VMFH guidelines and procedures. For more information see Ms. McGuire in the Career Center.

Juniors and Seniors – Do you want to become a pilot? Join the Museum of Flights Aeronautical Science Pathway (ASP) program.  This program is designed for high school juniors and seniors who want to become professional pilots or work in one of many aviation operations management fields, such as unmanned aerial systems, air traffic control, airport management, or airline dispatch. Six college-level courses will be embedded within each yearlong course, all of which are core to earning an Associate and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Aeronautical Science at Green River College. Check here for more information.

Seniors – Youth Aerospace Program is a two-year internship opportunity for students interested in the aerospace industry. Students are required to attend weekend activities and workshops during their senior year of high school. Students will also have the chance to take field trips to aerospace companies like Boeing, network with industry experts, and more. Students will receive job placement assistance at the end of the internship. Check here for more information. 

Students ACE Mentorship Program for students interested in Architecture, Structural/Civil Engineering, Construction, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, and more! ACE is an after-school mentor program for high school students. The program offers students the chance to work with professionals from leading firms in Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma. Students will complete hands-on activities, office hours, videos, and design projects. Students  Tukwila Pantry is a great way to get community service and volunteer hours. Leave them your contact name, email, phone number, and the number of volunteers who will come with you. Students - Blookworks NW is looking for volunteers. Volunteers play a critical role in Bloodworks NW life-saving mission. By volunteering your time with Bloodworks NW, you are part of the lifesaving connection that delivers blood to patients in need. Students UW Community Health Profession Academy program is designed to introduce high schools to health sciences professions.
